Introduction
Scholarship Solutions, LLC, doing business as AwardSpring (“AwardSpring”), provides the awardspring.com website (“AwardSpring Website”) as a service on behalf of our clients (“Awarding Party”). AwardSpring does not own the data you enter or files you upload (“User Data”) on or to the AwardSpring Website. All User Data belongs to the Awarding Party. The Awarding Party’s own, separate privacy policy (“Awarding Party Privacy Policy”) governs how User Data is used by the Awarding Party.
We strongly recommend you review the Awarding Party Privacy Policy. You can find a link to the Awarding Party Privacy Policy, or contact information for the individual responsible for the Awarding Party Privacy Policy, at the top of this page. AwardSpring is not responsible for the Awarding Party’s compliance with their own privacy policy.
AwardSpring Privacy Policy
AwardSpring will collect, hold, use, and release Collected Data (defined below) in accordance with our privacy policy below. The AwardSpring Website and associated software platform are made available to Awarding Parties as a service used by Awarding Parties for administering scholarships, grants, and other awards.
Both AwardSpring and the Awarding Party reserve the right to modify their respective privacy policies without notice.
What We Collect
The AwardSpring Website collects and stores:
- User Data provided direction by applicants
- Data about how you use the application
- Data provided about you by the Awarding Party
- Email communications
We refer to this data as “Collected Data.”
We do not store or share your password. The technology used for passwords means we can never retrieve the text password you use. Nerdy details: Passwords are salted and hashed and only the resultant output and salt are stored. To find out more, see the OWASP guidelines on password storage.
How We Collect Data
We collect data using various technologies, including cookies, server logs, application logging, and third party tools. To learn more about any third parties that we use for data collection, please see the "Sub-Processors" section below.
How We Use Data
All Collected Data is or may be made available to the Awarding Party. AwardSpring does not control how the Awarding Party utilizes the data.
AwardSpring makes Collected Data available to employees, independent contractors, and third party service providers to facilitate the following:
- Application development and testing
- Environment maintenance
- Website monitoring and performance testing
- Service backup and repair
- Website and service improvements
Contractors and third party service providers have agreed to hold and use Collected Data in accordance with this privacy policy.
AwardSpring reserves a limited right to disclose Collected Data as required by applicable law or pursuant to subpoena, court order, or other legal requirement. In the event that AwardSpring sells, assigns or transfers some or all of its business to a successor or acquirer, AwardSpring may sell, assign, or transfer all Collected Data to such successor or acquirer.
Right to Be Forgotten
Users may request to the Awarding Party that their data be deleted, all requests for deletion will be forwarded to the Awarding Party for execution. AwardSpring includes a "Delete User" feature to facilitate removal of Collected Data. Please keep in mind, in some cases the Awarding Party may be required by law to keep your data for a period of time.
After initial deletion, AwardSpring backups will continue to include Collected Data for up to 60 days. This data is then automatically purged on a rolling basis.
Sub-Processors
Sub-Processors are third parties that AwardSpring has engaged to provide services for operation of the platform. They have or may have access to Collected Data.
